MAINTENANCE OF DISCIPLINE AND GOOD CONDUCT - BY STUDENTS parents.

1. All offences of malpractices during examinations are dealt with by a special committee appointed by the College for the purpose. Let it be noted that the decisions of the committee and the College management will be final and binding upon all the concerned students and parents.

2. Students must be properly dressed while in the College premises.

3. Students must avoid loitering in the porch, the corridors, running along them or making noise near the classrooms.

4. While being in the College campus, students must always display Identity Card and produce both whenever the authorities ask for them

5. Students must put in the required attendance at the lectures as prescribed by the College authorities

6. A Science student failing to attend more than 3 practical examinations will be treated as a defaulter.

7. In college it is not possible for the Principal or Professors to attend to every student individually. Students should, however, feel free to approach them at all times.

8. Every student of college shall at all time: i) conduct himself/herself properly, ii) maintain proper behaviour, iii) observe strict discipline both on the campus of the College and also outside, iv) ensure that no act of his/her consciously or unconsciously brings the college into disrepute. v) shall not lodge any complaint or make any representation regarding any matter connected with college to the press or other outside institution/agency etc.

9. All the students should avoid any act that directly or indirectly causes or attempts to cause disturbance in the lawful functioning of the College. ii) habitual unpunctuality in attending lectures, practicals, tutorials, and other courses as may be prescribed. iii) repeated absence from lectures, tutorials practicals and other courses as prescribed. iv) securing admission in the College to any undergraduate or postgraduate programme or any other course by fabrication or supersession of fact or information. v) obstruction to any student or group of students in his or their legitimate activities, whether in the classroom, laboratories, fields, playgrounds, gymnasium or places of social and cultural activity within the campus of the College. vi)GVC Brochure 49 possessing or using fire arms, lethal weapons, explosives, or dangerous or corrosive substances on the premises of the College. vii) possessing or consuming any poisonous or stupefying drug or intoxicant in any form (such as Tobacco, Drugs, Narcotics, Pan Parag, Gutakha and other similar things) in the College. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the campus. viii) ragging, bullying or harassing any student in college or outside thereof ix) indulging in any act as would cause annoyance or embarrassment to any other student, or member of the authorities of the College or to staff member, or any member of the family of the staff. x) indulging in any act of violence, assault, intimidation or threatening in the College or outside thereof, xi) destroying or attempting to destroy or tamper with any official record or document of the College. xii) conduct unbecoming of the student at any meeting or special functions or sports and cultural activities arranged by the college or at any other public place xiii) stealing or damaging of any property belonging to the College, staff member of the College or any other student xiv) instigating violence or participating in any violent demonstrations or violent agitation or violent strike in the College. xv) instigating or participating in any gherao of any official or staff member of the College. xvi) violation of any of the rules and regulations of the College or orders of the Authority, xvii) gambling in any form in the College.

10. Discipline - Students will abide by the general rules of discipline laid down by the college authorities from time to time. In all the matters, the Principal's decision shall be final and binding on all students.

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR THE STUDENTS TO NOTE AND FOLLOW:

RAGGING IS AN OFFENCE LEGALLY PUNISHABLE.

Students are requested to restrain from any form of ragging violating this provision is punishable by law. Any kind of ragging practices / activities on the part of students are strictly prohibited. The students should note and ensure that they do not involve in any activity / practice prohibited under the Ragging Act. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of college authority the accused student would be expelled from the college. The College has constituted vigilance committee / anti-ragging committee headed by the Principal. Students having any ragging record seeking admission to this college will not be admitted.
